6 Simple & Effective Décor Tips
#1. Picture Frames
One easy way to add an extra touch to your home is by framing your photographs of family and friends. By putting your photos in a frame and hanging them on the wall or placing them on tables or shelves will give your space the feeling of home & comfort. You can place your wall photos in unique patterns using different size photos to get an abstract vibe.
When you or your guest walk through your front door, the very first thing they will notice is smell. There are many different options you can use to make your home smell amazing! One of my all time favorites is candle warmers. They give off a great strong smell and last for a long time and they also have two different types you can use. The first is the candle warmers that use heat from a tea candle or other small candles and the second is the electric candle warmers. In my opinion, using the tea candles to melt the candle wax has a stronger smell and the wax melts faster. However, one great thing about the electronic candle warmers are that many of them have timers so you can set it for 3 hours, 6 hours, or even 9 hours. You can turn it on and go about your day while it melts and makes your home smell great. There are many other products you can use to make your home smell amazing. You could use candles, air fresheners, carpet freshener, wall plug-ins, scent diffusers, the list can go on forever! Pick a way that fits you and your lifestyle. Decorative candles can also give your space a touch of elegance.
Lighting can make the world of difference and completely change the mood in your space. Install dimmers to give you the option of "setting the mood" because lighting can make a big difference. Also, adding different kinds and styles of lighting such as chandeliers, recessed lighting, wall scones, under cabinet & vanity lights, spot lighting on art pieces, table lamps, floor lamps, and stair step lights will not only add light to your home but it will also add style and design to your home.
#4. Your Bedroom
This is the most important room in your whole house. This is where you sleep, rest, and relax and nothing is more important than getting a good nights rest to accomplish your day. When designing your bedroom you want to make it your little sanctuary. Make it feel like a luxurious and hotel-like. Use crisp white sheets and plump bedding and pillows to achieve this feel. Make your bed go from ordinary to extraordinary by adding decorative pillows to match your bedding and room. One tip for the color of your bedroom walls is to go for a color that is soothing, easy on the eyes, and makes you feel like your at the spa. Having a relaxing color on the wall will make it easier for you to relax and fall asleep. Finally my last tip is to keep your bedroom as clean, simple, and clutter free as possible. Don't overload this space with art, photos, furniture, décor, and so on to keep the spa-like relaxing vibe.
Mirrors are simple, yet great additions to any room. They will make any kind of space look and feel bigger. Brighten and amplify the light in a room by hanging wall mirrors. Also, for natural lighting hang a series of three or four mirrors opposite a window to reflect the incoming light as well as the view. Use different shapes, sizes, and styles to match your space and see what a huge difference it will make.
De-clutter and de-stress. Too many items on coffee tables, pillows on chairs and art pieces on walls make a space feel cramped. Stick to a few statement pieces and oversize art to give your room a clean, modern look. Less is always more! In other words, showcase your personality and style through thoughtfully placed accessories and art, and avoid unnecessary clutter.
